Dom
Dom is a 200 hour YA power, vinyasa and bikram teacher at the YogaLife studio in Greenpoint. After attending a bikram class in 2010, she was drawn to the intensity of the bikram practice and the numerous physical benefits thereof. As a keen runner it seemed to complement her training regime and help manage the multiple injuries sustained over the years. After that initial class, she was addicted and found herself experimenting with different forms of yoga, finally finding a fit with the athletic nature of the power vinyasa style offered at YogaLife. Soon the holistic nature of the practice began to surpass the initial physical benefits and she found the self empowering practice not only begin to change her physical body, making it leaner and lighter, but also transforming her attitude, beliefs, perceptions and thoughts. Yoga has taught her self acceptance, authenticity, compassion and gratitude.
She completed her vinyasa training at the YogaLife under Dave Porter and Marley Vigdorth in 2013. She enjoys guiding her students through a powerful, athletic style vinyasa which not only allows them to experience the full physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga, but which also provides them with the confidence to express themselves authentically and creatively through their practice. She is also a certified kids yoga teacher and holds a BA degree in Psychology and Cultural & Literary Studies from UCT.
